Resale Shop-hopping…

We love our little shop for its Aladdin’s cave of designer goodies, but we also appreciate a good resale shop-hopping adventure! When we visit new places we will always take time to hunt down pre-owned designer clothes shops and to save you some time, we’ve chosen a few of our favourites… Thrifting, consignment or secondhand shopping offers an affordable alternative to the mainstream high street. It enables us to discover new brands and to own pieces that we ordinarily.....

How To Shop at Grace & Ted

Grace & Ted is a treasure trove of designer goodies. Brimming with clothing, shoes and accessories; it can be difficult to know where to start your search. That’s why we thought we’d arm you with some tips so that you can shop efficiently and effectively – hopefully helping you in your quest for your next designer discovery. Menu Gordon Jones

It’s not very often I rave about food; mainly because I love all food and therefore if I did, i’d be talking about that great pizza, spaghetti bolognese, cheesecake, falafel, Pad Thai (etc) I had; all day, everyday. We’ve got some amazing restaurants in Bath and are lucky to have such an eclectic mix of independents absolutely nailing the food scene – in fact, if you’re ever stuck for somewhere to eat due to such a vast selection and need a nudge, check ou.....

Love Your Locals

I rant about independent businesses A LOT. I’ve even been on the telly talking about the dire state Bath’s high street may find itself in if things don’t change. I champion independent businesses because I truly believe they are the back bone and lifeblood of the city. Yes, we have magnificent tourist sites and those thermal waters which are pretty special; but once you’ve seen that and you want to really get to know a city – you head to the little shops. .....

Phoebe Hooke

Bath’s newest kid on the block is Phoebe Hooke – freelance writer, pilates instructor in training and girlfriend of Bath rugby’s Sam Burgess. Straight from the land of Oz, (Australia, not where the Wizard lives) she was the go-to-girl for all things fashion and celebrity in two of the country’s biggest glossy magazine. Since arriving in Bath, Phoebe is making quite a splash in Bath already, having been appointed as a columnist for Bath Life magazine and immersing her.....

Cancer Research UK

This week I had the honour of being invited for a tour of the Cancer Research labs. Led by Professor Paul Martin and his team at the University of Bristol it was an eye-opening, thought provoking and inspirational day. We’ve all seen the CRUK adverts and know the stats: every two minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer. Cancer incidence rates have increased by more than a third since the mid 1970’s. Cancer is the number one fear amongst the British public, feared.....

We love Pitch26.

We’re pretty lucky to know a lot of the independent business owners in Bath and even luckier to be able to call them our friends (we hope they don’t mind!) One of our all time favourites is the über talented Robert Kann who is the artistic brain behind Pitch26. Originally a fully qualified architect, Bob is now a full time illustrator creating intricate and breathtakingly detailed masterpieces of the landmarks in our fair city and others around the U.....
