We are now accepting stock for the Autumn/Winter season! If you’ve been wondering how to sell with Grace & Ted, we thought we’d answer some frequently asked questions so you can start clearing out your wardrobe…

Which brands do you accept for sale?

We take designer labels only – from Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada and Gucci to more contemporary brands such as Rag & Bone, Zadig et Voltaire and Acne. We look for clothing, shoes, handbags, accessories and jewellery. If you’re unsure whether your items are suitable for us, check out our Labels we Love page for a more comprehensive list.

High end designer labels retain their value and therefore are more suitable for resale, this enables us to get you the best return on the pieces you originally paid a lot of money for.

Do you sell vintage?

As a general rule, we accept items up to 3 years old in near-perfect condition. There are some exceptions to this and we will sell classic/vintage items from brands such as Chanel, Hermès, Celine & Gucci for example. If you’re unsure whether we will sell vintage pieces you have, give us a call: 01225 461 518 – if items you have are unsuitable for Grace & Ted, we can recommend other re-sale stores that may be able to assist.

When can I bring items in?

You don’t need to make an appointment to bring items in so you can pop in any time. We are open Tuesday – Saturday from 10am – 5pm. If you have lots to carry, there is an area beside our shop where you can park for 10 minutes and we can help you unload. We will make a list of the items and give you a copy to keep.

Can I still sell with you if i’m not local to Bath?

Absolutely! We accept items via post to our shop at 10 Kingsmead Square – we just ask that you email us beforehand with a list of what you have to sell and some photos that show us the condition of the items.

How do you price items?

We price items based on their current resale value, taking into consideration the original selling price. Some brands will retain more of their value than others (Chanel, Hermès) but we always do our best to achieve great prices for our sellers. If items have been purchased at outlet stores or in a sale, we will price them based on their last selling price.

We understand that many clients sell items to fund the purchase of another special piece, so if you are hoping for a certain amount back for something, tell us and we will do our best!

How long do you keep items?

Clothing is kept for around 8-12 weeks or until it is no longer suitable for the season. Handbags, shoes and accessories can be kept at Grace & Ted for longer as these are often less seasonal. Items can be returned to you before this time so if you change your mind and decide to keep something, you can pop in any time to collect it.

We ask sellers to call once every few weeks to check on the status of their items, using the reference numbers on the receipt.

What happens when I need to collect unsold items?

When we have unsold items that are ready for you to collect, we will ring and/or email you. We ask that items are collected with 2 weeks – however if this is not possible, we can rearrange for a more suitable time.
We have very limited storage space available and cannot keep items for longer than 2 weeks – any uncollected items will be donated to charity.

How much commission do you take and how am I paid for any sales?

In line with most re-sale shops on the high street, we take a 50% commission on items sold with Grace & Ted. Payments are made via cheque or bank transfer. Unfortunately we cannot give cash.

And that’s it! If you have designer pieces you would like to sell, email us at: emma@graceandted.co.uk, call 01225 461 518 or pop in and see us at 10 Kingsmead Square, Bath.

We look forward to meeting you!
