We love accessories; jewellery, scarves, hats, pretty slides that we can lose in our hair – you name it, we’ll wear it. A timeless yet (we feel) totally under appreciated accessory is the humble brooch or pin. They can be big, small, sparkly, elaborate or simple but they are always noticed. It’s the finishing touches that add depth and detail to an outfit, no matter what the occasion.

Chanel pins, brooches and lapel decoration are some of the most recognisable. She created ornate and beautiful designs inspired by the things she loved. Currently at Grace & Ted, we have three classic Chanel pins that are perfect for adding a spot of gorgeous detail to your outfit.

Chanel brooches

Brooches and pins can be used as an accessory in so many ways and don’t just have to be stuck to your lapel. Dress up a denim jacket with a shiny gold number, pin a more simple design to your scarf for a dinner date or pop on one your collar. (Shameless Usher reference)

Women's style fashion brooches

It’s not just girls that can enjoy the fun either – brooches are back for boys with one of this Autumn’s top trends in men’s fashion being the small but perfectly formed accessory. ‘The Man Brooch’ is officially a thing so make like Leto and Eastwood and add a little interest (and maybe some sparkle) to your lapel boys!

Men's style broochesDon’t be afraid to push the boundaries of your style. After all, ‘fashion evolves but style endures’ and trends will come and go. Fashion is supposed to be a form of expression and we love seeing guys and girls rocking their own style.

Before we go, we asked Adam at Gieves & Hawkes to style our Chanel lion head pin on his super sharp Gieves suit. We love the result, don’t you?
